The Power of Forgiveness

I gotta say, this month flew by fast. The entirety of February has been loaded with project after project and through it all, the Lord sustains. Thank you Jesus! I worked on a short film, my church did an Outreach, I got more freelance clients, and God has been teaching me a lot as I’ve been walking through some inner healing. I’m going to do my best to touch on all of these.

The short film, I’m not at the liberty to share too much information at this time, but the person who is heading up the project has said it will be released in May. It’s been a fun shoot and it’s been a growing experience as every project is. My church, Victory, did its first Outreach and it went tremendously! We saw at least a hundred people show up and over 25 salvations, praise the Lord! This Outreach was focused on giving food and supplies to those who need it most in our community and seeing how we can minister to them. This was a bit of a dream come true for me and I cannot was to do more of them. I got some more freelance clients as well, I’m doing video and photo work for them and it’s been a great help to both me and them.

Something that the Lord has been bringing to my attention lately is the power of forgiveness. I’ve been going through this journey (or a pilgrimage if you will) of walking out forgiveness towards others and in doing so realizing the forgiveness that the Father has for me. I wanted to share some of it and I think it can be applicable in your life as well.

When we walk in forgiveness, it is an opportunity to walk as Jesus walked. His testimony is one of forgiveness. Even in His final moments before He died on the cross He said,

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

Luke 23:34

He even told us in Matthew 5:44 to “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

Recently I’ve had to walk this out and allow the Lord to help me through it. I lost dear and close relationship and I’ve had to walk through this healing process of forgiveness despite not having closure. Spending time in the quiet place with the Lord, learning to let go and cutting of soul ties that were there. Though I felt wronged, used, and hurt; the Father has taught me to forgive as He has forgiven. The words of the Apostle Paul ring true,

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Ephesian 4:32

That is all from me. Again, I pray that that rings true in your spirit and that you carry that power of forgiveness that Jesus has for all with you.
