It’s been one week back in my home state and it feels good. As much as I’m missing NZ, I know that the Lord wanted me back in Florida for a reason and everyday I’m realizing that I’m right where I need to be in this season. Having full assurance in where the Father has placed me. Even though leaving YWAM was one of the hardest things, God’s work isn’t done and only He knows what the future holds. One thing a friend from DTS pointed out to me was that if we knew what the future held, there would be no fun in the discovery. There is great joy in the not knowing! So in this time of the unknown, rejoice that we get to go on this journey of discovery with Him and rest in the fact that the Father has the best intentions for us in everything!
Recently I’ve been going through Genesis and one of the things that stuck out to me was in Chapter 28. Jacob was on his way toward Haran and when it became dark, he went to rest and the Lord gave him a dream. In the dream he saw a ladder extending from the Heavens and the Lord gives Jacob a promise or a covenant.
He says in verse 15, “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
We see God give a promise that He would bring Jacob back to what was then called Bethel which literally means “House of God”. God does the same for us. He will not leave us until He has done what He spoken to you! You can hold onto every word He says and you can go before His throne with boldness!
Just as Jacobs place was called Bethel, let your own home, the one you're shut up in, be the House of God. Let your home be Bethel. A place that you can have direct communion with the Lord and have no other agenda, except to draw closer to His heart. Tell Him your desires, your dreams, your passions. Even tell Him your struggles, your hurt, your pain. He wants nothing more than to show His love for you by being your everything, so give Him your everything!
